RyanWoods Introduction

Hello! My name is Ryan Woods, I was born in California and moved here when I was 7 years old. I've lived in Huntington ever since. I've been a part of the soccer team all through high school and did a little bit of track too. I truly enjoyed any and all of the art classes I took in high school from photography, to jewelry crafting, to graphic design. Once graduating high school I went to Columbus College of Art and Design for a year, then transferred to Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne for a semester, finally I landed here at HU. I am beginning my fourth year of college this semester, hoping to graduate in a year. You may see me longboarding through campus in my free time, other than that I enjoy lounging at my apartment, playing Magic, or playing on my computer. Weekends I'm often spending time with my fiance who is attending Ball State University. In my artwork I tend to push for realism, and the same goes for animation. My intended focus is in 3D. I'm trying to stick with character animation and design, But I like to do much more. Once again my name is Ryan Woods, and please don't be insulted if I cannot recall your name, I'm terrible with names. =)

Caitlin's Intro

So, hey there everyone. I'm Caity. I'm an Animation major here at Huntington. I love just plain hanging out with friends. Though don't let that push you away from me, cause I'm always looking to make more.

I enjoy watching some anime and lots of cartoons. Not more so the new ones, but the good old cartoons like Tom and Jerry and the Jetsons and things like that.
I absolutely love music. It's my inspiration for everything, be it my art, writing, or otherwise. Some of my more loved groups include Skillet, TFK, and Toby Mac. Though you might hear me say a lot that I like the song, not the artist. That's why other than these few groups and a few others, my entire list of music is totally random. I don't have that many on my playlists yet, but I also love instrumentals. They leave so much room for imagination. Too fun. :)

Really, I'm not too interesting. I have a few different styles that I'm perfecting as I go as far as art. I'm always open to music suggestions as long as they're not true hardcore screamo. Lol. And I'm always up for a fun time. I might not be all that for parties, but I love being around people when I know them. Come hang with me sometime. Just tell me to pull my headphones off and I'll talk for a while with you. ^^

Intro

Hello!  My name is Rebecca Strong and I am from St. Joe, IN.  For those of you who have no idea where that is (which would probably be most), it is a small town located about a ½ hour north of Ft. Wayne (and that would be following State Road 101).  I am new at this blogging thing so please forgive me right now if this whole post is awkward.
I am a freshman and I am majoring in Animation.  To be honest, there is actually no specific reason why I chose this major.  I really love art and at my high school I took whatever art classes were offered (Drawing, Painting, Ceramics). There was never really anything that dealt with the digital side.  To sum it up, I chose animation because it sounded like it would be fun and interesting to learn.
As for a little bit about me, I am from a pretty big family (about 8 people).  I am the oldest of the 6 kids, which means that I am the first to go to college.  Yay guinea pig status (not)!   I usually spend my time at home reading (basically anything: fiction stories, old classics, informational books, art books, comics, manga, etc.) or drawing.  I also love watching movies, especially the animated ones or as my dad calls them “cartoons.”

Intro to Me =]

At first, I was afraid my intro would be boring, but then I realized that I’m not boring so why should my intro be? Answer: It shouldn't be.
Hey everyone! I’m Racheal. Racheal Jaworski, if you’re feeling formal, but mostly, you can stick with Racheal. I’m an interesting person to say the least. I’m the kind of girl who sits on her laptop all day doing who knows what.
I love movies and TV shows, mostly the ones with suspense sprinkled with romance. My sister calls me a hopeless romantic, but I don’t see it. I just like when the guy gets the girl at the end and I enjoy watching the journey the characters take to the end.
My favorite TV shows include Castle, Once Upon a Time, White Collar, and Rizzoli and Isles. Movies, on the other hand, are a bit more classic in genre. Think anything Audrey Hepburn or remakes of Jane Austin movies then add Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and super hero movies to the mix and you have my bipolar movie shelf.
If you talk to me, you’ll find I am more of a walking contradiction. I’m a shy extrovert. I’m a lazy neat freak. In short, I’m the kind of girl who makes life interesting.
But out of all of this, my favorite thing in the whole wide world is talking about God and his amazing power to be everything to everyone. If there was ever one thing in my life that I would never get tired of talking or hearing about, that would be Jesus Christ.

So that’s me. I’m also an animator, so below is an animation that I made last year. Enjoy!

Dustin Newman Intro

Hello everyone, I'm not sure how to begin, Blogging is new to me so I guess I'll begin with the things I like. Here lately I've been getting into reading (more educational literature than anything else) the music I enjoy listening to is elector  but the one thing I enjoy most is drawing. That is the one constant in my life that never gets old. It has always been my desire to be an animator ever since my elementary teacher first challenged me with the question on "what would I like to be in the future as an adult". That desire never left, to imagine my drawings coming to life has always captivating my imagination but after high school when it was time to start college, my fear of failing prevented me from pursuing my desire at the time. For most people their decisions revolve around what makes them happy or what they think would make them happy, for me it's fear. My main reason now for being here at Huntington University (10 years after high school) is the fear that I will have the same crummy job for the rest of my life. I figure that there will always be crummy jobs of labor waiting for me but I will never be an animator unless I go to school for it and challenge myself.

Aaron Horn intro

Aaron Horn

ACH

Hello Everyone I'm Aaron C. Horn

On the left you can see a very handsome man whose name is Aaron Horn.
He is a simple little young beautiful child with a knack of  drawing and many things like that such as playing video games, drawing, reading comics and books, taking walks, thinking, music, flying, creating dams, saving orphans, and having a tea party.

Born in a great place known as Warsaw then moved to Pierceton my family and I have very exiting times like playing video games, walking, road trips, homework and lots of cool things. Now I'm here at this place and doing my best on work, studying and learning to ride the sandworms. Its kind of hard at first, but I will get the hang for it.........eventually............eventually........I think...........I.

I joined media arts of animation to become an elaborate dancer and to be number one in ice-skating ( Become a cartoonist and or video game designer in short terms). Its very exiting to meet peoples handshakes so it wont take to long to meet and greet or have any emotional feeling towered me, but if you do I'm still happy to meet and greet with a ehh smile. Fear not I will always be friendly and happy for wherever you want to go like behind the back ally at midnight. ( by they way ignore all the information on top I do not like tea party's, I like sports and other manly things such as.....as......stuff)

I have two doggies name floppy a wiener dog and charley a hairy dog. Floppy like to give a welcome to all happy visitors with obscure doggy language and biting and charley is charley. I for one thing is far too beautiful to be posted by my dogs floppy and charley for as I Aaron C. Horn wont be anywhere near this sentence about dogs for I am smart like all these other handsome ones too.

I love drawing especially and making comics for everyone to enjoy at my place at http://worldsinonehorn.blogspot.com/
Come see my creations, story's, and other neat stuff that I made.

Like this epic comic and picture

Andrew Jared

Hey everyone!
My name is Andrew and I'm from Pakistan. I'm a freshman and my major is Film Production. I got interested in Film Production about three years ago in my College (grade 12 and 13, or whatever it's called here) where I took Media Studies. The different theories relating to film and other types of media really captivated me and that's when I got inspired to become a film maker. The practical exercises also helped me to understand the field in depth and gave me a lot of inspiration.
My focus in film making is not just to direct a media product but to influence my own ideas in as many areas as I can because I believe that is the way to make the product your own and it allows you to speak to the audiences more clearly. The word used for such kind of a film maker is Auteur, which is French for Author. I want to be the author of my products and influence the areas in a way so that all the areas aim for, work for, and reach the same result that I want them to.
I like movies that have a strong storyline, great focus on the technicalities, great actors and sometimes unexpected twists in the end. I like films based on the Film Noir and Neo Noir theories. However, I never discriminate between genres of films, I watch them all because I like to analyze films and observe the codes and conventions that set them apart.
I worked on two products in my College. Both related to film production. I also had to make blogs that recorded the whole process and journey behind the films. I am posting links to my blogs and my short film at the end of this post just in case anyone would be interested in them.
I am very excited and looking forward to the DMA program. I hope that it will be a blessing for all of us.
Cheers!

Trisha Leichty

Hi! My name is Trisha Leichty. I am from Fort Wayne, IN. I'm a freshman majoring in Film Production. I want to focus on the editing aspect of filmmaking.
I have known I wanted to work in film for a while. When my brother was younger, he was heavily into films and wanted to be a director. This sparked my interest in film and I began making my own movies.
A few summers ago I was able to go to a film camp in Norwood, Colorado, called Rocky Mountain Christian Filmmakers Camp. It was a small camp, about 10 people, and we worked together to create a short film for a week and then they send the films to Christian film festivals. I have also filmed and edited a few short videos for church. In June my dad and I went to Los Angeles to look at film schools. While out there, we were able to see Universal Studios backlot and also take a tour of Warner Brothers Studios. We saw different sets of TV shows like Pretty Little Liars, Two and a Half Men, and Friends. In addition to film I also enjoy photography and drawing. I've always been into creating art.

Kyle "KyTheGamer" Murray: An Introduction

Hey all, my name is Kyle Murray, and I am a Junior here at Huntington University. I come from Louisville, Kentucky and I transferred into the animation major here last year as a sophomore. However, I missed the 101 class last fall, hence why I am here now. On the internet, I go by the name KyTheGamer, or just Ky for short
When I was a kid, my first career choice was to be a marine biologist, because I love the ocean, but then I realized that biology was half of being a marine biologist, and it was time for plan B... Ever since I was a kid, people commented on how good I was at drawing, which sparked my interest in sticking with it. I didn't get serious about honing my skills until high school though, so I still have much to learn. I picked up my first video game when I was about 5 years old, and haven't put down my controller, or mouse, since. My favorite aspect of animation is character design and animation. I just love creating characters in my head and putting them on paper. My favorite mediums are traditional drawn animation and 3D.
I have a YouTube channel where I post random videos that are usually game and/or anime related, but I haven't posted much on it in a while.

Sean Fitzpatrick Introduction

Hi! I'm Sean Fitzpatrick. I'm an animation major here. I grew up with 3 brothers (I'm in the blue shirt), and we had some great adventures in the backyard using just our imaginations and some swords, er, sticks. I love animation because it allows me to share the stories and adventures inside my head.

I also love video games, grizzly bears, great white sharks jumping out of the water, television, and comic strips. I even have my own comic strip and one time I drew a comic strip every single day for a year. I am super excited to get into the animation program here at Huntington and working alongside all of you guys!

BEST POST EVER

Hey guys! I'm Karli Melder, and I'm super excited to jump headfirst into the ocean of the animation world and completely drown in all the information that it offers! I love cartooning, especially when it comes to messing with anatomy and making a character look completely ridiculous, because I also love to make people laugh. I want to have my own cartoon show one day that people of all ages can laugh at and enjoy! It would be my dream to work for Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon.

I'm from Marietta, Georgia and a freshman at Huntington this year! I'm going to double major in animation and psychology: I just explained why I'd love to major in animation, but my reason for the psychology double is more complicated. I love to help people, but I feel as though the general populace doesn't like to be "helped" by going to a psychologist or psychiatrist and becoming a "patient" or "client," so I want to have the knowledge to help people on a professional level, but as a friend at the same time. I plan on networking and getting to know a ton of people so I can reach out to them and help out as a "professional friend!"

Recently I just finished illustrating two children's books (both from different authors with no relation to each other) and I will be looking forward to their being published sometime around the upcoming holidays! I'm currently attempting (attempt is a good word here) to create a webcomic. I have five chapters loosely outlined, but I still have a ton of work to do before I can even post.. On another note, I'm heavily considering making individual doodles for each blog to add personality to it.

I'm very loud and VERY silly; I like to think that I'm funny, but you'll be the judge of that (don't be surprised if I laugh at my own jokes, though)! I like to laugh a lot, and I've heard it's infectious. I enjoy watching animated films and movies more than anything, and I think each artist has a unique aspect about their style that I could hopefully be able to learn from or build off of! I have a ton of pets back home, but I brought a small goldfish named Forrest (after the Forester!) with me and I love her to death, so you'll hear me mention her a lot. Rather than swimming, she wiggles. We both have a way of doing things, and even though she probably couldn't possibly care any less, I think we have a lot in common. I also tend to write a lot because I have a lot of things to say and a lot of thoughts to share (I'm rambling right now), so my blogs will be paragraphs. You have been warned.

I look forward to blogging and replying to y'all's blogs; I think our class will become a close community through this and our experiences with Professor Leeper in the classroom!Keep up the awesome!

(Inspired by my wonderful roommate, Rachel Jackson. PS it's Loki. Too pro.)
Loki'd!

Liz Smith Introduction

Hi, I’m Liz, and I am an animation major…who is also completely new at blogging or doing anything journal related.

I grew up in this little corn field called Huntington (you may have heard of it) and was home schooled all the way, the exceptions being preschool, and the four art classes I took at the local high school. I grew up in a single parent, Christian home (my mom was wonder-mom btw, working, teaching AND raising myself and my two little sisters). And being the eldest, got the cool room to myself =D. Also, I attend College Park Church, which is right down the street from here.

I have been a fan of manga, anime, and video games for a long time, and I’ll rant on those things for a long time if asked about them at all… My favorite animator (for now) is the wonderful Hayao Miyazaki, and my favorite film of his would either be Spirited Away or Howls Moving Castle.

Current things I may be found doing are studying, watching movies, hanging with friends, gaming with friends, chatting with my sister, listening to music, quoting The Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings, and Disney movies, or reading if the time ever comes back for that.

Randi Orr

 An introduction ...

The thing about names is that they tell a story and create individualism among our peers, our community, our culture, and this world. What does the name Randi Orr signify? Well, how about I share my story and the significance of my name shall remain open to interpretation by my peers and by this world.

I grew up on a beautiful and magnificent horse farm in Corunna Indiana where corn surrounds all four corners of our land. The sun would shine bright and I could feel the love of God. It is from my experience and observations at my country home that I began to associate the sun with God’s love, the rain with His soothing hand, and the night with His blessing of peace. I own 9 horses, I have a twin brother, and our family bond extensively flourishes through our love of animals and through the cinematic arts.

In high school I was committed in broadcasting, show choir, and amnesty international. At Huntington I hope to continue my passions by embracing God and the digital media arts program. I am a freshman at Huntington University, and I anticipate double majoring in Film Production and Broadcasting Fusion media in order to incorporate both my passion for storytelling and incorporating my passion to inform and expose the truth.

To me film is more than just a movie, it is more than pure entertainment, more than hanging out with friends, and more than filling time. Film is an art to be appreciated and deconstructed. I hope this year I can accomplish a deeper understanding of filmography therefore enabling me to grow unto unimaginable depths … with the Lord’s blessing of course.

So I leave you today hopefully with a better understanding about me as an individual and as a person. I cannot wait to establish a relationship with every member in this class and get to know you. My motto for this year is to “embrace your passion” and I will enthusiastically continue to embrace God and this department.

God bless,

Randi Orr
Ps. Johnny Depp is my favorite actor and I dislike spiders the following pictures explain both like and dislike.

Lance's Intro

What's up? Hi, my name is Lance Terpstra and I am a freshman at Huntington University. I was born and raised in Janesville, Wisconsin. (No I don't like cheese as much as you would think) I am striving to be an animator some day. I am not shy, I will talk to anyone so come and talk about nerdy stuff with me and I will enjoy every second of it. I also have a big heart so if you are having a hard time, I would be more than glad to help you.

I love video games, it's just that simple. I LOVE VIDEO GAMES!!! I will take anyone on in any game when I don't have class! I also love animated films. I actually got interested in animation because of the film Monsters Inc. I was watching one of the extra videos when I stumbled upon a video showing someone playing with Sully's hair and the physics engine. I was mesmerized when I saw that someone had the ability to make a character in a computer and make it come to life.

My name is not ZELDA!
I don't know what I would do in the industry exactly, but I have always had the dream of animating entire music videos. To be completely honest I have very little experience in the Digital Media Arts before coming to Huntington, but I am a quick learner. I am just so excited for these next four years. BRING IT ON!!!

If you want to know more about me, I have Youtube channel I use to save funny videos and music and other things. I will give you a really good idea as to what I like. http://www.youtube.com/user/Epona1357

Haley's Intro!

Hello! My name is Haley Wyatt, I'm a freshmen and my major is Animation with a minor in Computer Science. I'm from Northern California and live in a tiny town called Dunnigan but you could say I live in the Sacramento area. I fell in love with animation when I was little and when my favorite movie was The Little Mermaid. I grew up watching Scooby Doo, Justice League, Disney and Veggie Tales. Later on my love for animation and stories grew into art that I made. Animation is my passion! I just adore how animated movies or shows told a particular story and the way the artwork moved me. I hope to do just that - inspire people with the animated stories that I will make. My dream is to work at Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, or any other animation studio. But I'm open minded to what God has in store for me!

Sam Jones, Intro

My name is Sam Jones and I am a Freshman at Huntington University. My major is Broadcasting/Fusion Media and I am taking Theater Arts as my minor. I was born and raised in Hillsdale County, Michigan. That's right on the Indiana/Ohio border. I am not an easily embarrassed person. I could literally stand naked along the side of the road and be totally okay...maybe that was a bad illustration. Please don't try to imagine me being naked you creepers!!! I love talking but hate being the one to carry on a conversation! You think of things to say...I will answer accordingly! Or make fun of you...only cause I'm good at that!

Alex Kane's Blog Intro

Welcome To My Intro

I'm Alex Kane a freshman at HU studying animation. My top goal some day would be to land a job at Pixar Animation Studios as a character animator. I got interested when I was 12 and began to mess around with my parent's old VHS camcorder. Since then, I've done some compositing, 2D animation, 3D animation, and stop motion as seen on my YouTube channel. All of this being self taught or the following of tutorials online.

After purchasing a Mac Mini during freshman year of highschool, I discovered a program called Xcode. Using various YouTube tutorials and many Google searches, I began to use this program to develop iOS applications for Apple Inc's AppStore.

Emerald Leong

My name is Emerald Leong and I am a freshman Film Productions major. I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii which is about 5,000 miles away from Huntington. Most students that I meet are surprised and sometimes envious that I live there. One of the reasons why I chose to go away for college is because the mainland has a lot more opportunity then Hawaii. I'd have to say, I'm kinda glad
we don't have cicadas though.
My favorite things to eat is sushi, pasta, watermelon and cereal. I enjoy sleeping at every opportune moment and trying new things. I love driving around, taking walks and drinking tea. My favorite artists are Justin Timberlake, Jack Johnson, Adele, Bruno Mars, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5,
and Eminem. I'm excited to learn more about digital media and film this semester and can't wait to get to know everyone!

My Introduction

Hello and welcome to one of the best classes you will be in this semester!

My name is Katy Seymour, and I will be helping Professor Leeper as the teacher assistant for your class this semester. What does this mean? Well, if you have any questions about the blog, or something of that nature, then I'm your girl! Please don't feel shy; if you see me around campus feel free to introduce yourself. Or, if you prefer, you could just yell at me if you see me, and I will introduce myself! I would love to meet you and talk to you about your interests.

I am a sophomore this year studying animation. My goal is to become a character designer and/or rigger for a small studio or for DreamWorks. I have not entirely decided what I want to do, but I am keeping an open mind to everything.

Now don't you worry about this class. You will be stretched, and more likely than not you will see things differently then Professor Leeper, but that's a good thing! Blog about it! The point of the blog is so that the class is a conversation rather than a lecture. If you are not a blogger, you will be ok. I had never blogged before I took this class last year. Learn as much as you can here. You will not regret it.

Happy learning, and my the blogs be ever in your favor!

Katy
