Avatar the Last Airbender Original Series

Hello everyone!

I've known my room mate for awhile now and we decided to watch a show together. We decided on Avatar the Last Airbender from Nickelodeon (easily one of the best shows they have ever aired).

If you've never seen the show I would heavily recommend it!!! The show is very stylized in an anime format even though it is an american animation created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.
Left to Right: Sokka, Katara, Aang, Toph, and Zuko

The show follows a young boy named Aang who is found in an ice burg by a young girl named Katara and her older brother Sokka. On a side note the world is split up into four regions : The Fire Nation, The Earth Kingdom, The North and South Water Tribes, and The Air Nomads. In this world certain (mostly random) people are able to bend (control) the elements. For example, the people of the Earth Kingdom can earth bend, the people of the Fire Nation can create and manipulate fire, ect. Well Aang is called the Avatar who is the only master of all four elements and the protector of the world chosen by the spirits.

Well Aang was to be the next Avatar but went missing with his flying bison, Appa, for 100 years. In that time the Fire Nation attacked all the regions and Aang is the only known airbender left. I'll leave the rest of the show for you to watch yourself.

My roomie and I have just finished the series and started to watch a spin off series called The Legend of Korra, which unfortunately is only 12 episodes long but the second season is to premiere September 13 @ 11 AM.

This is such a great show with great animation and wonderful plot line :)

have fun watching!!!

  1. Yes I definitely recommend this series as well. The first season is a little slow getting in, but once you get through that it's amazing.
