The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music is one of my favorite movies so I was excited to see it coming to television as a live show. The Sound of Music is based on a true story during the 1930s Austria about Maria who becomes a governess for a Navy captain’s (Georg Von Trapp) seven children. War has broken out and Austria is about to be taken under German control and Captain Von Trapp is being forced to enlist in the German Navy. I wasn’t able to catch all of the live show, I just saw here and there of the musical that aired last night. I think Carrie Underwood did a good job with the music numbers, but acting isn’t her strong point. I did enjoy what I saw of it though. I heard lots of negative feedback on it before it even aired because people were upset that the movie was being remade and that Carrie Underwood could never do Julie Andrews justice. I don’t get why people are comparing Underwood and Andrews because the two projects are completely different one is a movie and the other is a live television show. I liked the show and I can’t wait to watch the rest of it!
