Louie

Louie is a very unique show. Its made by Louis CK. He plays a fictional version of himself in this dark comedy. He writes, stars, and directs. He told fx that he would only do it if he had complete creative freedom and thats what he got. It has gotten him a lot of recognition too. Since he had the freedom to make what he wanted, this show has had countless nominations and has even received a few awards.

The show revolves around a middle aged comedian trying to make it big while still taking care of his daughters. He is pretty unhappy and everything always seems to go wrong for him. We find a lot of humor in his pain and misfortune, but we also feel for him. He is also a surprisingly wise man. Even though he has an incredibly vulgar sense of humor, he has a great set of values and he works them into the show. Some might write it off since its so inappropriate but if you stick it through it can redeem itself.

 Louis CK also has a lot of stand up which is all hilarious (one is even titled “Hilarious”) except his stand up is super inappropriate and it doesn't really have any redeeming factors. So if you want to laugh and feel bad for laughing, you could check it out. The show on the other hand is fantastic and very worthy of watching.
