The Fox

This is probably the stupidest video I have ever seen. It's even worse than Rebecca Black's song "Friday." Were these people on crack when they wrote this? I felt like my brain was turning into jello every passing second I continued to watch. If you haven't had the pleasure of watching The Fox, please do so. It will change your life.

  1. I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole thing. This guy seems like an American Psy- wannabe and brings shame to the furry community. I'm mildly upset, but not enough to be full on butthurt about it. Nonetheless, why did you choose to share this video, of all? Your short post intrigued me, because the rest of us are writing paragraphs. Do you have more to say about it? I wouldn't categorize this in either of our topics; it's just plain stupid.

    1. I chose to share it because of how ridiculous it was. It doesn't fit with anything that we are talking about at the moment but I thought that since this blog is supposed to be about anything relating to digital media, film, animation, etc that it was appropriate and something to just laugh at. I'm sorry that I didn't write more about it, but there wasn't really much to say. This purely just a reaction post and nothing more. I'm sorry that this post seemed to affect you negatively, I just wanted to share it with the rest of the class so we could all laugh at how stupidly funny it was.

    2. I'd have to agree with Emerald. Some things it is hard to say a lot about. When you watch this video for the first time, it leaves you pretty speechless. But this video does indeed fit into what this blog is about. It is anything related to digital media. And whether we like it or not, this video is a part of it.

    3. I think the point is to incite discussion. It's not relevant to what we're talking about in class, but I think that it's good that we're forming our own discussion topics. Why should we limit ourselves to only talking about what Professor Leeper is teaching us?

I agree with Nicole though. It's hard to say much about this viedo, although I think it's good that we're talking about it because it's working its way into the mainstream media and therefore becoming relevant in our lives, even if it's not relevant in the class.

  2. I actually thoroughly enjoyed this music video. Ylvis (the group who made this) are actually a variety comedy group quite famous in Norway. They pitched this video idea to Stargate, a world-renown Norwegien producers who have done work for Beyonce, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, etc. The people there absolutely loved the stupid yet intriguing idea and ran with it. Thus The Fox was born.

After that boring history lesson, I can now say why I like the video. First off, the tune is ridiculously catchy. Not only that, but the choreography is actually amazing, save "the fox" who dances in the middle. I think what really gets me is the fact that the song actually asks a really philosophical question. What does a fox say? Would it speak to that horse in morse code? These are the questions that haunt me.

Oh and whenever the grandpa makes the noises I pee myself a little.
