So I know you hated it just because it was played in place of a movie you really wanted to see and you might be totally against everything I'm saying here, but just listen for a moment. It might be worth reading. Over break I went to see a feature film that just came out over break. And actually, it was very good.
Disney's newest animated film, Frozen, certainly lived up to the expectations of the fans. Especially Elsa's signature number, Let It Go. This song alone the fans have been waiting for and begging for leaks to so fervently that a one minute segment of just the song, not the video, was released on YouTube a long while back just to hold everyone over. It truly is the scene that I believe this movie is going to be famous for. This song, along with the many other show tubelike songs including, Do You Want to Build a Snowman, First Time in Forever, Conceal Don't Feel, and others leads me to believe that, just like Tangled, this movie has a good chance of becoming a successful broadway musical. The songs were all very cute and had a very show tune aspect to them.

Some may say that the style was very close to that of Tangled. To this I say they're right. Prince Hans (Frozen) facial and even somewhat body style is very similar to that of the Stabbington brothers (Tangled). There is also a lot of arguing between fans on how close princess Anna's (Frozen) style is to that of Rapunzel (Tangled). The last thing that I found was similar is when Anna's horse comes back to the castle without her. The form of Prince Hans calming the horse is exactly the same to when Rapunzel was calming Maximus when he was attacking Flynn the morning of her birthday.
The last thing I want to talk about is the sudden change in Disney's story style in this movie. Nearing the end, Anna is told that only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart. This is right after Elsa accidentally shoots ice into Anna's heart. Now, at first the group tries to take her back to her prince Hans who is believed to be her true love. When she realizes Hans is evil and that (find name) is her true love, she goes out to find him. When she finally sees him as she is changing to ice, she also sees her sister, Elsa, heartbroken and ready to be stabbed in the back by Hans. Instead of choosing run to Christof to free herself from the curse that will leave her frozen for eternity, she runs to Elsa and stops the blade from killing her sister, letting it shatter against herself that had just been completely turned to Ice. It turns out in the end though that this is what saves her along with the kingdom from the winter Elsa had mistakenly unleashed upon it. Her act of love to her sister unfroze herself along with Elsa's heart as well, allowing her to stop the snow. I would also like to point out that this is the first Disney movie I've seen where the princess doesn't marry the guy she just met, and where the Disney "Queen" wasn't the bad guy.
All in all, this movie was very good and I would recommend it to watch if I haven't already spoiled enough for you.
