Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

The other night I watched Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. I really had no interest in watching the movie because I don’t like end of the world movies, they don’t interest me. I only made the exception to watch the movie because Steve Carell and Kiera Knightley starred as the main characters in the movie. I’ve loved Steve Carell’s comedic roles from The Office, Get Smart, Anchorman, Date Night, and others so it was interesting to see him in a different role. I liked Kiera Knightley in Bend it Like Beckham and the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is about an asteroid coming towards the earth and it is announced that there will be three weeks till the end of the world. Two strangers, Dodge and Penny (Carell and Knightley), meet and try to help each other find and get to their loved ones so they can spend their last moments with them. I thought the story moved slowly and the movie lost my interest pretty quickly. I didn’t care for the movie and it’s definitely not a movie that I would want to watch over again.
