A divorced, former First Lady, is currently serving as the Secretary of State while trying to keep her family together. Elaine Barrish is a smart lady with a tough attitude. While her husband was in power she had to deal with the coming out of her son T.J and the numerous infidelities of her husband. Elaine ran for President; however, her family was falling apart while she was doing campaign and that is why she decided to separate from her husband, "Bud" Hammond. After she separated from him she resigned her place as candidate and instead became her opponent's Secretary of State. While being State Secretary, Elaine sits down to do an interview with a reporter that wrote awful things about her; however, she agreed to do so because Susan, the reporter, blackmails her. Shortly after this interview things begin to get worse both in the office and in her family. This is a great series and I highly recommend it, too bad it is only six episodes. Though the plot seems to be taken from Hillary Clinton's life, Sigourney Weaver, who plays Elaine Barrish, stated in an interview that more than being a story about Hillary it is a story about families that have been in the White House and the prices they had to pay. I wish this series had more episodes because it is really good. The plot is kind of predictable but at the same time awesome because it guides the viewer through this harsh environment of political animals.
