Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is finally in theaters! I saw it Friday night and it was amazing. I loved the storyline in this one. The film is about the Hunger Games winners, Katniss and Peeta. They are returning from the Hunger Games and going on a Victor’s Tour to all the other districts. Shortly after Katniss and Peeta return from the tour. The Quarter Quell is announced, a boy and girl from each of the twelve districts, that have previously won the Hunger Games, are chosen to compete again. Katniss and Peeta are both chosen to compete in the Quarter Quell and President Snow is seeking to destroy Katniss. This movie exceed my expectations, I thought it was much better than the first. The New York Times stated that the Catching Fire box office sold $161.1 million ticket sales in it’s opening weekend (Thursday through Sunday). And it sold $146.6 million in overseas ticket sales. I loved how the director switched to an IMAX camera when the tributes entered the arena. I also thought the arena was really well done in this film. I thought all the actors did an amazing job as well and I really enjoyed everyone’s performances throughout the film.
