Only lovers left alive is a independent film directed and written by Jim Jarmusch. Here is the plot summery: Set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangiers, an underground musician, deeply depressed by the direction of human activities, reunites with his resilient and enigmatic lover. Their love story has already endured several centuries at least, but their debauched idyll is soon disrupted by her wild and uncontrollable younger sister. Can these wise but fragile outsiders continue to survive as the modern world collapses around them?
I have been greatly interested in this independent film and I can’t wait until I get my hands on the film to see it. My interests are not in the love story but by the Idea of a Vampire who has lived through it all but is depressed by the direction humanity has taken. Its interesting because in todays 21st century there is technology and advances that help society but we have fallen farther than before, that poses an interesting thought. I feel like the film will produce some interesting questions and ideas, I know because it already has. Get this the main characters who are in love, their names are Adam and Eve, thats a bit interesting.. There is also the idea that as people who were made to love, we search for someone to love and spend the rest of our lives with. The question is what if life is short.. Whats the point to love because otherwise it will just pass away leaving only you to remain. After living so long it would be unbelievably hard to see something new, be something new, and experience something new even though life is still moving around you. The idea of morality comes up making you question humanity and what it really means to be human.
