I have always been hesitant to face things that are willing to challenge my faith and present tough questions concerning my faith and beliefs. Ever since the discussion of challenge and delight I have been more willing to allow my self to be challenged. I have come to the realization that if I don't challenge my faith or ask questions, then what is the point to having faith. Maybe then I will not only learn to grow deeper in faith, gain a better understanding of who God is, and go deeper in my relationship with God. Recently my roommate and I sat down to begin watching through doctor who. The episode next in line was named “Satan pit,” an episode I have only allowed my self to see a few times in comparison to all other Doctor Who episodes. This episode of doctor Who is full of both truth and lies. However, I suppose that is up to the viewers to decide.
Here is a synopsis of the episode. The Satan Pit was the ninth episode of the second series of Doctor Who. It introduced the presence of the beast, a demon purporting himself to be none other than the Devil. The Doctor faces off against an enemy that defies all his beliefs. Rose and what's left of the crew are trying to escape from the Beast's legion of possessed crew mates and Ood (an alien race). Can the Doctor stop an impossible enemy from escaping its prison and save the universe?
I will leave you with a quote that got me thinking.
“The devil is an idea. In all those civilizations, just an idea. But an idea is hard to kill. An idea could escape. The mind. The mind of the great Beast. The mind can escape!” -The Doctor
