Heima

I was definitely not expecting what I got from Heima (a common signs and wonders experience for me…) As Yohan said, just let it take you for a ride, don’t try and over analyze it.

Over all, I was amazed at what this band was doing. Free concerts? Unannounced? To highly unpopulated areas? Is that not completely against the publicity life style most bands live? I think the best part to see what when they played at the site where there was protest for a dam, and instead of doing a high end show, which would require electricity, they decided to go all acoustic, to support the protesters. It was saddeding, to hear about what the dam did to the area, and how it was to late to change it as the land had already been flooded.

I found the visual images at the beginning to be rather intriguing. It was all scenes of water: rivers, streams and water falls. And I did not notice until later, but all the water was flowing backwards. It was going back to its beginning, just like Sigur Ros was doing, going back to their origin, Iceland. Good connection there, and also some beautiful imagery to play along with the music.

I put a link to a song by Sigur Ross on this blog, I am unsure if it was played in Heima, but I happen to like it. It is also on a playlist with a whole bunch of their other music if you care to listen.
The video behind this song is interesting to watch, I’ll let you figure it out for yourself though =)
