Wanderlust

Jazz music playing, flamboyant women dancing, men drinking fine whisky, and people celebrating life and art. Can you imagine living during the roaring twenties? One of the saddest things in the world is the reality we live in. By this I don’t mean starvation and wars, though I do consider those topics to be really important. However, I’m talking about today’s human beings. All we do is work and work like slaves to please other people but ourselves. I was watching a movie the other day called ‘’Midnight in Paris”. It is a story about a young man that travels through time and visits all the personalities during the roaring twenties. I wish I had a time machine so that I could travel through time and write novels with F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zelda. I wish I could have a chat with Ernest Hemingway. I wish I could have gone to one of Jay Gatsby’s parties. I would have loved for Gertrude Stein to sell one of my paintings. I would have loved to be present when Picasso painted his muse. The film industry during the roaring twenties was having some big changes. In 1927 the first film to include talking sequences known as The Jazz Singer was released through Warner. Walt Disney’s famous mouse did his first appearance in “Steamboat Willie”. I wish I could have experienced the Golden Age in Paris. I’m sure Salvador DalĂ would have been my bestie. Let’s not forget the Renaissance. I mean, who wouldn’t have loved to live at the same time as Da Vinci and Michelangelo?
