A road trip for the movies

I just came back to Wisconsin. On the way Julia and I talked for about 4 hours about college and what we both thought of Huntington. She is a film major and I am animation, obviously we are going to talk about DMA. One thing specifically we talked about was the idea of types of movies we like. Even though we had different views on what movies are the best, we both love movies for the art. I think that people who want to go into any type of Digital Media Art should think of art this way.
There are different types of movies obviously. One that I really like is the children’s film genera. The humor and bright colors bring me joy. On the other hand there are those who like horror films. I am personally not one for these types of movies because I can’t take the idea of that much bad happening to someone. What I noticed on the ride is that no matter what type of movies you like, it is the art form of conveying a story that makes us gain pleasure through it.

I think that instead of arguing on what type of movies are the best we need to highlight good movies as good movies, and bad movies as bad movies. If someone said to me that a certain horror movie was good I would go and watch it because it is good, instead of avoiding as a whole because I don’t care for the genera. This brings up the idea of what the world would look like if we intersected more genera. A little scary, but it could bring out some cool things.
