Need of Art

Art is everywhere, even in the simplest thing, as the Japanese called it Wabi Sabi (which is art as simple as it can be). Even the simplest thing in earth is beautiful, it was created by a major artist, God, the creator of all things. When art is not present things tend to become tasteless, without life, something that sometimes does not make sense, because the creation reflects its creator. We reflect how God is when we do create things. We tend to imitate what our creator has done.
But it is more complex than that. It depends on us whether we want to reflect God or not. If we don’t want to reflect him that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t exist. Because even “art that denies God cannot deny God.” We can create beauty with our attitudes, behavior, and actions. All those things rest on one thing; a choice. It is our choice to reflect something beautiful, something that bring life to others and that can express feelings. As Buechner will said, first it will be tragic, because there could be grief in us, sin and evil things inside us. But then it is comedy, because it is something inevitable to be loved by God. And is that love that transform us and make the story a fairy tale. Those are the stages of the gospel.

  1. I think it's cool how, as artists, we can create just as He did! The thing is, God created us out of nothing. While we can still use our imagination, that was created by Him and the media we use to put down our ideas were created from the things that God originally made. It's interesting!

    1. As we were created as his image, we inherited God's traits, and one of them is to create things, invent them out of the blue. The thing is that God being allmighty, he just needed dirt to do a beings that could be somewhat like him. He is allmighty so he can get the best out of all the evil and messed up things. It's amazing of just thinking about it!
