Meaning When We Don't Understand

Listener is a band that does a lot of spoken word. My favorite "song" of his is "Wooden Heart. It is full of emotion and its very powerful. I have listened to it countless times but I honestly couldn't tell you what it means. I could give you rough ideas of what I think it could mean but I wouldn't confident in those answers at all. I don't think thats a bad thing. I've searched for meaning all over the internet and talked about to other people and most people I have talked to either don't understand it or they have completely different view on it than others I've talked to. Yet everyone has agreed that it was a moving. I think that just speaks to the greatness of Listener. That he can make something that most people don't understand and still have them all walk away feeling moved by it, is incredible. I think he is so honest and so genuine and sincere that people feel how he feels even if they don't quite know what that is. Its how we should approach all of our work. Not with a cynical view but a sincere heart that truly believes what we are saying. Not to say that all of our videos should be confusing but I think its nice sometimes to see something so vague like this because then it gives everybody a chance for it to mean what they want it to mean or what they need it to mean. To me I feel like it means that we are all broken people and we need to accept that in ourselves and in each other and then we can come together. You might watch it and think something else but I think thats the beauty of it.

"We're all born to broken people on their most honest day of livin' and since that first breath... we'll need grace that we've never given."
